Capture short contributor biographies in a <bio>
element
Note: This instruction is intended for the contributors short biography used for
about the authorsections. For full author biographies see Full Biographies.
<bio>
elements must
be captured in a <contrib-group>
Each <bio>
element must have a @id
attribute which
contains a unique identifer for the biography which is used for linking to the relevent
contributor(s) (see Contributor Cross References).
If the biography is numbered it must contain a <label>
containing
the relevent label text.

<bio id="bk978-0-7503-3579-9bio1"> <p>Arthur McGurn is Professor Emeritus of Physics at Western Michigan University. He received his PhD from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1975, working in theoretical condensed matter physics. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Physics, the American Physical Society, the Electromagnetics Academy, and the Optical Society of America, and is an Outstanding Referee of the American Physical Society.
